Remember we had that little issue on what was and was not considered anthro? Well for those people who enjoy drawing what was not considered anthro (aka zoomorphs: meaning characters with a human-ish looking base that have animal ears or tail on them like a neko anime girl or are just part animal, like a centaur)they now have a place to put up their stuff besides their own gallery.
I just created a new club called (dun dun DUN)the Zoomorphs Club! (click on the name to go there).
Still pretty new, no other members yet and I haven't made a logo or what not, but please at least look at it. It'll make me and the gang happy.
Zoomorphs! 8D Yei! *wonders where the name Xenomorphs came from* Really, though, that started to get annoying. :c
Maybe you should delete it and rename it the Xenomorphs Club, because everyone seems to call it that. D:
i thought xeno was for a phobia. like, immigrants or something? i know i heard it somewhere..
sorry, but I prefer the term zoomorphs, its easier to remember and associate with ^^' (at least for me )
there are a small amount of undecided ideas that could be in both categories. Like, some people draw things very unique-ly, so it can get confusing. But like with your apparent elf picture, yes, an elf would not be anthro, cuz its mosly humanoid body and traits. Unless its some unusual cat-elf thing or something ^^'
no, if its a scaled anthro, it doesn't count as a zoomorph, unless it obviously has a very humanoid body. If it just has a scaled tail or tail in place of legs (like a mermaid) then its a zoomorph. Anthro would be scaled all over, with reptile-ish faces, claws, teeth, etc. mostly animal.
OOO i see it now, i never saw the pic before ^^' my bad.
but yea, that would be more zoomorph-ish than anthro, mainly because it has such a human looking upper body. You can upload it to Zoomorphs, but I doubt it would be for anthro.
it's funny, so few people seem to understand the difference between the terms "anthropomorph"(to give something human-like attributes) and "zoomorph"(to give someone animal-like attributes) even though they are polar opposites of each other, similar as they may be. this also means any "anthropomorphised" anime character and such is really zoomorphised, but the results are usually very similar to the anthros going around that it really doesn't matter, but still, nowadays the amount of syntax genocide is absolutely appalling, if you look in too deep. and I don't often bother for the same reason, so I don't mind. still, the obivious zoomorphs are something I don't really like that much in an anthro-club.
jk, I just found it funny for some reason, its not you its me.
But you hit the nail on the head, they are polar opposites, so they shouldn't be mixed. There isn't romance stuff going on here, so the opposites attract wouldn't work.
syntax genocide? I'm not back in school yet, so my brain is lazy what does that mean exactly?
Syntax means using words in context, and genocide is... well, mass-murder, so it basically means using completely wrong words or phrases ...I suppose, I'm not 100% sure since I'm not a native english speaker, but then again, not all of the native english speakers understand their language all that well... :p
hmm... romance between zoomorphs and antrhomorphs...
actually that might happen, since they can be made to be very similar ^^
the only true native speakers are those who are part of the British stock and culture. Since I'm from America, I'm not a native (what country are you from?)
But don't worry, you speak it perfectly though I thought genocide meant mass murder on a specific culture, like the holocaust or the civil wars in Africa.
i dunno about the romance, unless someone draws them similar, but different. It'd be weird, like a human with a dog >< lol
oh, for in the club? don't worry, it's simple, just click on the club management link at the bottom on this club's homepage, then hit club artwork, then click on a picture of yours to submit!
if you're confused I can restate that or show you.
If we write about our fursonnas and such, would it be all right to upload it here? I don't mean like, poetry or journals, but actual story and character backgrounds?
Writing is an art, or so I'm told, so, I was just curious before I uploaded.
I actually have NO humans in the piece at all. But if you don't already know what the main character looks like, it's hard to picture. Though I use muzzle, maw, footpaws, etc for mouth and feet and such.
