Welcome to the Artistic Mentors Club!
This is a club for people who either want to mentor budding artists or those who want to find a mentor to match their art style. This club is created in the spirit of helping others to reach their artistic potential.
Club resources:*Recommended*
1. Forums: These are used by the students to post what sort of artist teacher they are looking for. Please make use of them. Teachers are free to post as well. We have developed subsections to make it easier, but feel free to start your own topics.
2.
http://scriblink.com/ This is an invaluable source for real time teaching. It's like Open Canvas's paint chat. Free and nothing to download.
3. Club Blog: information will be posted here on a semi regular basis regarding updates and any sort of events that make take place as well as general resources for club use.
4. FAQ: make use of it and ask us whatever you need to know.
5. http://www.takamin.com/oekakichat/user/oekakichat3.php?userid=330404
Takamin paintchats are usually small [abandoned] paintchats with basic functions, and have a more pixellated feel (though the brushes can be softened to watercolor). The number after userid is the room number; put a new number and you get a new room.
6.Adobe has a free online writing office software with a unique option to share your computer screen with others so they can watch you draw in real time: http://www.dragon-tear.net/forum/showthread.php?p=149795#post149795
Instructions are available in the link.
7. https://buzzword.acrobat.com/#o
Registration is required for the sharer, but not for the watchers. The option to share is in the right corner screen called "Meet" in which you ask the program to share you screen.
Thanks to

for the last 3 resources!
Mentor Rules:
1. To be a mentor, there must be a certain level of skill within your genre of art. {style or media} In order to qualify yourself a certified mentor of this club you must first send a note to either me (

),

or

. We will approve you for the club. Sorry we must discriminate in such fashion as we want the new artists to have the best teachers the club has to offer.
2. Each mentor can only take on a maximum of 6 students. We don't want you to bog yourselves down with students. We want you all to be able to work on your own projects as well. :) If you have more than one account here, you still have a maximum of six students total. If you would rather take less, that's fine.
3. When requesting to be a mentor, or applying for the position. Please tell us what it is your specialty is if you haven't already posted in the forums. We'd like to know if there is a particular skill that you value over others that would be useful to a student. If you haven't one, that's fine as well, just let us know.
Rules for Students:
*note* We are still awaiting mentors to join the club, we're advertising all over. If you know someone whom you think would be a good candidate, by all means, let them know about this.
1. You have the opportunity to post in the forums so that you may find a mentor.
2.When posting, be clear about what you would like to learn as a starting point so that you can find the right mentor.
3. Respect that your mentor may not always be able to help you
whenever you need it. These are people who also have projects of their own to work on.
Rules for everyone
1. If you have a problem with a teacher or a student, please try to talk it out civilly. If this is not possible and you feel that you need another student or teacher, please, contact one of the administrators as soon as possible. We would like to maintain a friendly environment.
2. Should any teacher or student begin to become derogatory and defame the other party, they will be blacklisted from the club. If this behavior is something that violates the rules of sheezyart we will gladly report you to the site admins.
3. The gallery is for student artwork which was created with assistance of the mentors. We would like to see what the two of you were able to come up with. We will open a section or separate club for mentors to post their art in the near future. In the meantime, feel free to post your gallery links in the forums.
