What Are We?
A rag-tag group of civilian ships of all sorts; mining ships, cargo vessels, refinery ships, passenger liners, dome ships, and fuel tankers, all led by a soon-to-be-decomissioned Battlestar (the space equivalent of an Aircraft Carrier/Battleship), The Galactica
Who Are We?
As far as we know, the last survivors of the attack on the Colonies. All 32,985 of us.
A slim number at best, representing the last of our civilization. While most civilians remain on board the passenger ships, passing time, the crew of the Battlestar Galactica are on duty nearly 24/7, training, refueling, repairing, loading, launching, reviewing, researching, and generally preforming above and beyond the call of duty.
Why We're Here
We are not completely sure. In fact, we aren't sure why any of this happened exactly. All the crew of the Galactica knew was that the colonies had been destroyed, and these few ships were all that remained of the human race. Now, five years later, after thousands of trials and hazards, we have [hopefully] finally found a place where we can rest our people, our crews, and our ships.
History
Five Years ago, The Crew of the Galactica, and the remnant of the Colonial Fleet escaped certain obliteraition at the hands of a merciless and unfeeling enemy. Our home world was presumed destroyed, and we, what is left of humanity, have been drifting through space, attempting to find a planet where we could take refuge, and possibly colonize.
