what is a comic?
a comic is a sequential story, traditionally told in horizontal rows of panels. comics can also be single-panel, as in editorial and political cartoons.
what this club is about
the comic artists club (club) is about the art of making comics, whether that be the writing, drawing, layout, linework, penciling, or coloring. serialized, science fiction, editorial, comedy, anime and manga, western.
what to submit:
comic pages, examples of any comics you may be drawing or will draw, comic characters from your comics, etc. basically, this is a club to showcase comics! For submission guidlines, see the CLUBlog!
comic reviews
for those just getting into comic drawing, or comic writing for that matter, the forum can be used for getting advice, or just plugging your comic to a new audience. please note that this club is small right now...but we're gonna be big! someday, when the sun turns black and cold...
Anyone draw comics? Post them online, or are selling printed? Then this is the club for you, regardless of skill level, writing talent, or precognitive abilities.
Here you can post pages with links to your comics, examples of pages, "how to draw comics" tutorials, or comic related character drawings.
This is going to be posted once a day until I see some progress, because there seems to be a lot of people who don't get these messages. Don't like it? Let me know someone pays attention by posting here or sending me a message.
-------------------
I'd like to take the time to remind faithful members, and those new to the ranks, that I am still active in removing multiple submissions uploaded in the same 24 hours. Simplified?
If you upload more than one page to the gallery in one 24 hour period, I will be removing them all.
I will also give no warnings as to when works are removed from the gallery, and will place the offending artist under a "Temporary Ban" header...i.e. they will not be able to post anything until they talk to me, or a Moderator, about why they were placed under a ban.
Why am I doing this? This club is about showing comics off, yes. But it's not about any singular person. I have almost 200 comics in my personal gallery, but I shall refrain from posting every single one of them. There are other Sheezy artists who deserve to have their comics shown, much more so than mine, and not swamped over when a zealous artist submits upwards of 10 at a time.
Please, show your fellow artists some respect. Everyone in the CACC deserves some of the same limelight that those who upload several at a time are attempting to veer their way.
In summation, this is not about you, or me (though I'll admit the power does inflate my ego), this is about showing off comics in all their flavors. Do not detract from other artists by submitting more than one page/strip a day.
