But wouldn't critiques generally apply specifically (bound to definition) as constructive comments on improving future works (as in for fully completed pieces)? I mean, WIP comments (especially for some types of art) would be more of guidance/mentoring.
Perhaps. It's a rather loose term online though, so honestly, I didn't give my wording that much thought. I believe at that point in time I was also moderately annoyed because any critiques I did get (elsewhere) on finished works generally consisted of people telling me to fix things in THAT PIECE, which was generally impossible (Most of my art is traditional media, and I would rather draw something new than draw the same picture over and over.) instead of telling me what I should improve on for the future.
In any case, WIPS are still encouraged, because... eh. Why not? The only real rule, I suppose, is that any criticism/advice/whathaveyous be constructive. (Harsh is fine. :) )
