Sorry for the lack of critiques from me people. I've been gone away for most of the month, but now that I'm back hopefully things'll get going again.
First of all--and sorry if I say this a lot--I'm really glad you guys are all doing such a good job. So give yourself a cookie or pat yourself on the back or something.
Second of all--we have all the moderators selected. We actually have one more than we need, but it's cool--helps lighten the load on other moderators :). Here are your new moderators:
I will try to comment on as much as I can too. :) Also, I will try to get more of the forums up. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, either send me a note or leave it on the forums.
Keep up the good work you guys, and I'm glad you're all here.
Let's face it--there's a dilemma. There are artists out there who really desire some balanced feedback on their work. The good, the bad--the works. And then there are viewers, who are too afraid of getting flipped out on to give such balanced feedback. This group is hopefully a fix to that problem.
Here's the deal--anything you want critique on, you submit. This'll give an O-K sign to all us folks that you want both the good and the bad on a piece. What works and what doesn't.
RULES:
For the critics--
1) In almost every picture, there is both good and bad. Try to point out both what is working and what isn't on a piece--after all, if the artist has something really good going on in an otherwise not-so-good piece, they shouldn't completely drop what good thing they have going on.
2) Critiquing does not give you an excuse to be cruel. No one is learning anything from a "this sucks" comment. :(
For the artists--
1) As tempting as it is, please don't get defensive about your work. We're trying to help. If you know you tend to be protective of your work, read a comment, wait about 15 minutes and look over your picture, then respond. It can help. :3
2) Try not to spam up the club. Submitting 3-4 pictures close to each other is okay, but try not to submit 15+ pictures all at once.
