Whoaaa, we're getting a lot of submissions now. :)
Because I know a few of us are really far behind on school work, it's why the number of critiques have gone down. Not to mention since the number of submissions having been getting increasingly larger (which is always a good thing :)), it's time for a back-up plan.
To make sure that every picture gets at least _one_ critique, a friend and I devised a system. Basically, we get five moderators (this is gonna include myself). Each moderator is assigned a number--for example, I'm giving 1 and 2, someone else is given 3 and 4, etc. etc. These numbers will correspond with the date the image or poetry or music was submitted. So for example, if something was submitted on March 11th or something, I would be the one who would _have_ to critique it. If it were March 15th, I wouldn't have to critique it but I could if I wanted to. :)
Hopefully this'll make sure that everything gets at least one critique. This sound good to everyone? If it does, the next step is to find four other moderators. :)
Yeah, except I think it'll be better as ending in the number of ___ 'cause it'll be easier to tell who is supposed to get that one. You of course get 1&6 'cause I like giving you more work, kidding!
I'll of course also volunteer myself, but you'll owe me......*wink, wink*
Yeah, that's what I meant. >_> In the example above, I'd also get March 21st, 31st, 1st, etc. Also I'd get 2nd, 12th, 22nd. Someone who chose the dates 5 and 6 would get the dates 5, 6, 15th, 16th, 25th and 26th, etc.
I wouldn't mind but I can only really critique drawings. >_> And only really drawings of people. I know absolutely nothing about poetry, which is why I've been ignoring those submissions, and same goes for music.
I don't think we should have limits to how much stuff is submitted, really, but I also gotta say that for a lot of this stuff, one person will submit six things and I'd just be posting the exact same crits to each piece, so I only crit one and say "this goes for your other stuff too" on it. >_> It's really not needed to submit that many similar images... maybe as a guideline, submit only the piece (or pieces) that you are really having difficulty on and sort of realize that six very similar pieces aren't really going to produce different critiques?
It also helps when people say what they want help with. That's so useful as a starting point.
Actually, Lynda and I were talking about people only being able to critique certain things, and so we were also thinking of a "trading off" system, where someone notifies someone else if they can't critique something and maybe stuff can be traded and the like.
Yeah, maybe that'd be a good idea on the whole submitting similar things. Although I dunno, I can kind of see the merit in it. Sometimes you don't know what's wrong with your own picture, and if the same thing that's wrong with it is the same thing that's been wrong with all your other pictures, whoopsie.
Yeah, Lynda and I actually discussed a dealy with that. basically allowing people to trade stuff off to another critiquer if they're uncomfortable with it. :)
I can pretty much do anything we've gotten so far but the music. Well, I can try, but, uh, yeah........*whistles off in the background, trips 'cause of a lack of looking where I'm going* I'M COOL!!!!
We need more volunteers, or are you just going to assign people and see how it goes, 'cause it'd be nice to find out where I am in the line up. Oh, and I just noticed that the submissions don't seem to be when they were submitted to the club as opposed to when they were uploaded to Sheezy? I'm not sure whether that's something to be concerned with, maybe a god thing even?
The submissions I think are dated when it was uploaded to Sheezy. It might be a good thing, considering that if someone just joins the club and uploads like 30 things it can be all spaced evenly rather than one poor dude have to grade it. I'll probably note/ask people if they want to become a moderator, and if they do awesome, if they don't boo. :) I'll probably ask people who have been pretty active in the club.
This not only sounds good, but it sounds great! ^^ And it also seems to make it easier for the moderators too. But what happens if you can't find any moderators?
