Hello all, this is Rita, your friendly administrator. While it's been mentioned that items posted should be related to the club, there have been unrelated items posted time and time again. Therefore, it appears necessary to list them again.
You can upload essays, pictures, critiques, animations, etc. on:
@ suggestions on how to improve the front page
@ layout mock-ups
@ what's wrong with the current front page
@ what the front page should become
...and other items along the lines of that.
You cannot upload essays, pictures, critiques, animations, etc. that are:
@ items that you just wanted more hits on
@ submissions you really liked and wanted to share with more people, despite being unrelated
@ stuff to "improve" your popularity
@ unrelated things you want to see on the front page
...basically stuff that has nothing to do with the front page revolution.
So while we appreciate members who join and contribute, remember that submissions must be about the club. It doesn't matter how much you like your picture, story/poem, animation, or song. If it's not related, it doesn't belong in this club.
Failure to follow these rules will result in restrictions to posting. Constant rule-breaking will result in being kicked out. We don't want to have to get to that point, so please follow the rules.
Thank you.
(Feel free to ask questions. They will be answered and eventually added to an FAQ.)
Note: Please do not post artwork to this club if it does -not- pertain to the mission statement (see currently posted artwork for examples). This is *not* a place to show off your art to try to get favs/rates, and from here on anyone who posts art that breaks this rule will be removed from the populus allowed to post art. If such posting continues excessively, *all* members will be disallowed to post art and must petition one of the moderators (*most* likely Kerrigore or myself) *with* what they wish to post to be allowed.
You have been warned,
Heliel
Welcome!
This club exists for every and any member of the Sheezy Art community who wishes to bring about change to the debacle of the front page. It is for fan artists and original artists alike.
Goal:
A quote from the original Front Page Reformation Club (here) is a perfect explaination of what is trying to be achieved with this club.
"We envision a Sheezy Art where Original Art and Fanart can be together without quarrel, a Sheezy Art where submissions can be judged more fairly, a Sheezy Art where talent trumps popularity, a Sheezy Art where nobody is judged for their use of another character but for the caliber shown in that use."
To All Original Artists:
We strive to make it so original art will no longer be overshadowed and replaced on the front page by fanart from popular fandoms. It is important that original artists feel welcome in the community and are able to get their hard work seen by others. It is unfair that a piece an artist may have worked on with pride for hours, days, weeks, even months is defeated by a generic image of Naruto. It is unfair that an original masterpiece be shot down by a chibi of L from Deathnote.
If you wish to see change, this club is for you.
To All Fan Artists:
We also strive to make it so your work isn't constantly voted down with a barrage of "no's" from people who grow tired of seeing your work on the front page. You have every right as the original artists to display your work proudly; work that you may have done masterfully yet recieve no contructive feedback upon. You may recieve useless comments that only state how much the individual loves you work for the character you drew, not for the effort that was put into it. It is important the the community of fan artists knows quality work from mindless and unoriginal copies.
If you wish to see change, this club is for you.
The Proposal
Simply to provide a separation of fan art and original art on the front page so that each is represented equally. Another column should be added so each type of art has two slots. Of course this is only one idea regarding a possible solution. Any club member is welcome and encouraged to submit work expressing their own ideas for a solution. This is a club for ideas, not for bashing the site or complaining. Such actions will never bring about a solution.
The outcome, whether it be success or failure, is solely up to the Sheezy Art Community. We ask you, are you willing to stand for a fair solution?
