Greetings and salutations to all Greek Mythology Club members! I sincerely hope that 2007 C.E. is looking well for you all. It's been a while since our last newsletter, hasn't it? Well, then. To business:
I've recently had an idea that it would be great to get our club members together for some art jam fun. If you're not familiar with the practice, an art jam is where all participating members agree to create a work based around a similar theme. It's very fun to see everyone's different interpretations of the same theme.
So, I was thinking, what if we started holding regular art jams? We could do this monthly or bi-monthly, I thought, without that being too ambitious. Our themes would be the different characters and stories from Greek mythology, of course!
That being said: Do the club members have any interest in this idea? And if so, what should our first theme be? This is the cradle of democracy, after all (Wait, what?) so let your voice be heard!
Love and smootches from your local tyrant,
Radical JoJo, club creator and director
Welcome to the Greek Mythology club! This page is dedicated to the ardent worship of the stories and legends of the ancient Hellenistic people....and, okay, we'll take the Romans, too.
Gods, heroes, monsters--if the Muses have inspired you, then come and share your art, poems, and stories!
Take note that we can only accept figures from Greek mythology--not anyone else's myths, or your own--but by no means do you have to stick to the classical canon. Go ahead, and be a rebel! Hippocleides doesn't care! Historical figures are also okay, since the lines between life and legend are so fine.
Now, come and heed the sirens' song and join the party! It'll be a veritiable artistic orgy over here...and you know how the gods smile on that.
