Hello everyone and thanks for joining and staying.
Following a suggestion of Teknoslasher, it's time we discuss creating our exceptional features : the matter is at such a point we have to do them ourselves if we want them.
I don't have any info about when the official staff will be back featuring again, but as members we still have our chance to feature people, and even to do it with success.
I have been trying to find how to do it, which was leading to several questions :
- where should we show our features ?
although "in the club itself" would seem obvious, I'm not sure at all a club can feature pieces that are not in the club gallery... There is still here, the cluBlog, or we can create awards in the gallery linking to the art piece.

- how many artworks should be featured each time ? How often should the features be published ?
As for how often, I would go for once a month (instead of twice a month) : it's a realistic choice plus we may need time to discuss the choices before each new feature session.
When it comes to how many, I consider "exceptional" somehow imply "few". And I wouldn't want all the few ones to belong to the same category. On the last entry, there were featured one artist (+ 1 example of their art) and 4 pieces, from audio, CG and music. It sounds good to me.

- How will we find the artworks, how will we choose what is to be called "exceptional" ?
A system with suggestors sounds great to me, if our features can be of interest for a large audience, get them implied in the life of sheezyart and train their eye (or ear) for awesomeness, it's all good !
What is exceptionnal is not so easy to define, maybe excellence in technique won't buy it, but a clever use of colors, an original point of view can.
I must add a special note here : it would be very time consuming to try to replace every feature lost and to search for a feature of this special month. What if we don't find any on time ? What if we find something great after that month's blog has been posted ? I recommand picking pieces from any time.

- Who should choose what to feature ?
This is where we work together. Obviously I would not write this much not to be volunteer working at the features. Still I'm not enough of myself, adding to that I'm also not fit for every category ( I know nothing about audio creation !).
The features need a team. Ideally experienced people. It will require suggestors, and a kind of validation comittee (having two people decide one atwork is exceptional should reduce the risk something has been featured just thanks to friendship).
- a few people for the artist of the month
- several people for CG and traditionnal drawing
- 2 or 3 people for photo, among them at least one specialist
- 2 or 3 people for music, among them at least one specialist
- some kind of "reserve" specialists in less used techniques (pixel art, artisan craft, writing/poetry...)
Once in a while, those minority field may still lead to some exceptionnal pieces, a little space should be given to them.
............done for me..........
Let me know what you think, especially if I'm going wrong on something, and feel free to volunteer to one or several positions !
