This club was established Tuesday, January 16, 2007.
Looking around, I had noticed that there was, in fact, a complete lack of clubs pertaining to Megumi no Daigo some time ago and it was no different before this. I do admit, however, that Megumi no Daigo does not have a very large base when I believe that it is an interesting enough story to deserve a little more attention than its getting.
I, myself, was told by a friend to look into the series. At first, I thought "how can this be any good?" Just to humor him a little, I went and got the first and second volume and found that it was actually an interesting manga. Ever since, I have been collecting the manga (even though I only have access to the English editions).
It is my hope that, through this, I can get some more people interested in this interesting series.
This club has been created in honor of the series Megumi no Daigo by Masahito Soda. For those seeking the English version of this series, you can find it called "Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M"
The manga is about a young man named Daigo Asahina who aspired to be a firefighter after being saved by a firefighter as a young child. After high school, he manages to pass the test and become a firefighter. He is placed in Medakagahama Fire Station, which is infamous for being "lazy" because the men are efficient at their work and get done early. Relying on his instincts to sense victims, Daigo stops at nothing - even disobeying orders and stealing the fire truck - to save someone in danger because he's promised himself that he won't let anyone die in front of him. Throughout the manga, he's regarded as a loose cannon yet its impossible to deny that he is good at what he does.
