Mello [Mihael Keehl]
He's strong headed, and raw emotion. Every decision he makes is based off of what his emotions drive him to do instead of thinking them through to see if they'll succeed or not.
He wears a lot of black, half of the yin yang.
His blatant want to defeat Near shows his determination to become the best.

Near [Nate River]
A quite boy level headed boy who thinks things through logically before putting them into action. He never actually confirmed that he hated Mello (like Mello assumed he did).
He wears mostly white. The other half to the yin yang.

Together they are a perfect match. They balance each other out. Near is emotionally deprived while Mello is too emotional for his own good.

One cannot strive without the other.
