I'm going through all the submissions again, so if you see something disappear that you submitted before, it's because it violated the rules of the pixel art club.
I apologize for being slow to do this in the first place, and don't think I'm antagonizing you if 90% of your additions to the club are deleted. I am a fair owner, and if you don't think that your piece violates the terms, then please PM me before you just stick it up - if I'm not PMed and the piece is re-added, I will PM you to let you know why I deleted it.
If you're confused, I hope this will help:
1. Anything using a pressure sensitive tablet with the opacity option turned on will usually create non-pixel results.
2. If you use any kind of tools (IE dodge, burn, smudge, blur, RGB up/down, etc.) or any brush NOT on 100% hardness, the result is NOT pixel.
3. If you have a piece that has a pixel main focus and a tool-shaded background, either remove the background or refrain from submitting it. Pixel pieces with tool backgrounds are STILL not pixel art, as pixel art in and of itself uses no tools.
4. As a rule, if you have more than 30 completely different shades of one color, unless you're working in complete monochrome and too silly to use the eyedropper, I'll delete the piece. I'm lenient, especially where partial transparency is concerned, but pixel artists -don't- use that many individual colors in a piece (it would drive us nuts!).
5. If you have more than 255 colors in your ending palette, I'll assume it's not pixel unless it's some insanely colorful piece that uses every color of the rainbow in like 42 different shades or something. Typical pixel palettes range from 4-60 colors, depending on intricacy. Again, if you have a ton of shades of the same color, it's a red-flag to nonpixel pieces.
6. If you save your piece in certain formats, jpg especially, you'll lose a lot of quality and compression will add TONS of colors. Save your pieces as gif or png to avoid this problem and save you the trouble of wondering why your pixel jpg got deleted. =>
