Suggest music submissions to be featured! Posted by AlloyOne
I have been brought onto the Sheezy Cast for the sole purpose of selecting musical submissions to be featured bi-monthly. It's a great job to have, if I do say so myself :]
What I would like anyone who cares to do is to notify me directly of pieces they feel should be featured. This will help me greatly, as well as point things out to me that I might have missed.

Hopefully this move will bring more music to the front page and widen people's horizons a little ;p
Hmm.... I tried that. It works fine for the folder... But, not so much for the display of the file, itself. I'll keep an ear out for particularly nice stuff, tho...
I see that one that you submitted (gj on that, I cant even SUBMIT) and i see the preview for it as your own. There is no second preview for the file now since it just plays automatically. Which I actually think is better for offsite viewing because sometimes people would get confused by a link from SheezyArt and not know to click the picture. Now it's more internet user friendly ;p
Having ANY music featured here at the moment would be a bonus, the music scene seems to have died a death. I think the prospect of submitting music needs to be made more attractive, or people just won't bother anymore and will look elsewhere!
Sheezy's one of the best providers of free hosting I can think of. In comparison to everywhere else that is also free. Having music featured more frequently I think will help send home the idea that it's possible to be known here. Since with this frequency there would be more music featured than just the AAA obvious winner crowd of producers ;p Bring some new people to the spotlight.
Yes, it would be nice to see some of the lesser known musicians featured, but judging by my lack of updates over the past couple of weeks, we need to get people interested enough to submit in the first place.
To do that we'd have to compare ourselves to other services who specialize in music hosting. In terms of what attracts musicians to host their stuff where they do. Im not sure what we could do to get people to submit here when they are already here ;p
Competitions seem to do good. Has fox been doing the ones he used to?
He was going to do one leading up to Christmas, but that never happened, then it was going to be in the new year, but as yet it still hasn't happened. Competitions do seem to work quite well, other than that, and featuring musicians, I don't know what to suggest. I just think that people have become despondent because, as you are no doubt aware, there has been nothing featured music-wise for ages, and it does seem as though musicians have been pretty much ignored lately. Anyway, I wish you luck with trying to revive the music scene here, I really hope it works!
Arright.. I'm not sure what the rule is on how old the stuff can be. But here's some stuff that I feel is quite worthy to be featured. Some of it was posted quite a while back, tho. >_>
