Monster Types Posted by Dipswitch
The Telefang monsters have type advantages and disadvantages just like the ones in Pokemon. It works a bit differently, though, and is generally not as involved as Pokemon strategy. The monster types are: Hill, Sky, Wood, Lake, Sand, and Land.
Although the strategy is not all that difficult, you could still end up losing pretty badly if you don't pay attention to the monster types. Here's an easy-to-understand breakdown of what is good against what. The type on the left is good against the type on the right.
Hill ---> Sky
Sky ---> Wood
Wood ---> Lake
Lake ---> Sand
Sand ---> Land
Land ---> Hill
When playing Pokemon, you have to take into account the type of the Pokemon and the type of the move it's using. Here you don't need that, though. All you need to know is the type of your monster. If your monster is Hill type, all of his moves will be Hill type as well.
For example, you might use your Hill type monster and have him do a biting attack. A Sky type might have the same bite attack, but if he uses it, it will be considered Sky type. So the name of the attack doesn't matter; it's the monster using it that makes the difference.
If you're familiar with Pokemon battling strategy, think of the Telefang element types this way:
Hill = Rock
Sky = Flying
Wood = Grass
Lake = Water
Sand = Ground
Land = Steel
Rock is good against Flying; Flying is good against Grass; Grass is good against Water; Water is good against Ground; Ground is good against Steel; and Steel is good against Rock
