Using The D-Shoot Phone
  Posted by Dipswitch
This is VERY useful to know. I was confused about it at first and this can eventually lead to you getting stuck in the game if you don't learn how to use this feature. So here it is-- you won't have to learn the hard way like I had to.

To get to the D-Shoot Phone, press the SELECT button (if you're using a VisualBoy Advance emulator on a Windows system, press the Backspace key). You'll get a menu with some options. These will now be explained:

Phone: This allows you to see all the monsters whose phone numbers you've collected so far. Click on one and you can see information about him/her. Click again and you'll have the option to call this monster, delete him/her from your list, or change the ringtone music for when he/she calls you. If you decide to call a monster, you can talk to him/her and then he/she will ask if you want him/her to come and be your partner. If you say yes, the monster will come and follow behind you through the game until you call someone else.

Calls: This shows you how many calls you've made to the monsters you have in your list. You can select one and talk to him/her, but he/she won't come be your partner unless you call them under the Phone option.

Music: Here you can listen to all the beeps and ringtones your phone has.

Prop: These are all the items you have bought at the stores. You may give one to the monster currently following you, but it's best to take him/her to a store and do a Reform Evolution. By giving him/her a favorite item, the experience will go up dramatically, which helps a lot.

Mail: Shows voice mail messages, but this feature doesn't really work in the bootleg versions so I'm not sure what it does entirely.

Save: This lets you save your game but it doesn't work on the bootleg version (Diamond/Jade).

Option: This lets you choose whether or not you want to see the clock on the main screen and battle animation, etc.

Return: Returns you to the game.

Mons: Shows a list of all the monsters you've seen (kind've like a Pokedex in Pokemon).

Rare Monster Numbers
If you're using the Japanese versions, you can call special rare monsters to be your friends. Open up the D-Shoot phone using the SELECT key, and then press SELECT again to type in the number you want to call. These only work on the Japanese versions!! If you try to use them on the bootleg versions the game will freeze.
