So this tiny club still exists and is still moderated, albeit lazily. To remind ourselves that we're still alive, I thought we'd have a little contest.
Trans-Metaphor Contest
I've never been able to come up with a metaphor that truly describes what it feels like to be transgendered. A friend is partial to describing it as "wearing a mask of your false gender that everyone else thinks is real."
So I submit it to you, people of the club, to describe what it feels like to be trans using a metaphor.
[If you don't know what a metaphor is, I'll have you know that you're making your English teacher cry right now and as punishment you have to take ten seconds and Google it.]
The Rules:
1. It has to be about being transgendered, transsexual or intersexed.
2.It can be any form of artwork appropriate for Sheezy - poetry, prose, artwork, etc.
3. I have no issues with fanfiction or fanart. If you want to do genderswap for this, fine, but it's more about the metaphor than the character you chose.
4. It must contain some sort of metaphor. A piece about realizing you're trans is nice, but it should be more along the lines of 'realizing I was trans was like...'
5. It is due by October 25th, 2009.
6. In case you haven't noticed, I have no idea what I'm doing. Feel free to suggest other rules.
Prizes:
I'm willing to give two full color pieces [with background] to the winner, one full color piece [with background] to second place, and two sketches [no background] to third place.
I know it's sort of arrogant to offer only my art, but it's really all I've got.
Considering that we're sort of tiny, it should be easy to win - so give it a shot.
A club for art and fiction pertaining to transgenderism and transexualism. All forms of expression are welcome, provided they are allowable by SA standards [sadly, pron people, you still have to censor a bit].
